Col. Ray "Frenchy" L'Heureux always dreamed of bring a pilot. Growing up, he built airplane models and dreamed about soaring over the earth. As a Skywitness to History, helicopter pilot LTC Gene T. Boyer flew tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam before joining the Executive Flight Detachment, gradually working his way up to the White House Senior Pilot position during the LBJ, Nixon, and Ford administrations.
