Cultural Production in Virtual and Imagined Worlds foregrounds how the two important fields of visual culture and Internet culture interact. This collection of essays explores the intersections, overlaps and disparities in terms of how the two discourses illuminate our everyday negotiations as we become increasingly dependent on the Internet and virtual/visual imaginings for constructing who we are. What is being examined here are the ways in which we use visual/virtual lenses to see the world both individually and collectively. This book represents a transnational effort that began as a series of conversations during the Mid Atlantic Popular/American Culture conferences from 2005–2009. The editors, a Canadian and an American, have included contributors across national and geographic contexts. Cultural Production is aimed at raising questions, crossing borders and presenting points of departure for future scholarship in the relatively new and very rapidly changing disciplines of visual and virtual cultures. Our critical approach to this study includes viewing Internet images as contested sites of cultural activity and also as sites that advance ideologies related to cultural transformation.

This is an open access book. Regional development is basically a process of change that is carried out for the better through planned efforts. The purpose of the Dean Forum of the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication itself is to discuss important matters such as the development of the faculty of Da’wah and communication which includes AD/ART, work programme and recommendations). Various studies can be done in this forum such as to sharpen the language about the improvement of the quality of graduates, discussing the certification of professions and graduates SKPI, curriculum and implementation of curricula MBKM, discuss about scholarship, human resource and Association of Professions and prodi in the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication as well as forming the Institute of Professional Certification (LSP) at the level of Islamic religious colleges in particular. Through the implementation of this FORDAKOM, each college can form a network of inter-collegiate cooperation such as competition, research activities, publication and scholarship activities of the Faculty of Da’wah and Communications both PTKIN and PTKIS. Besides, this forum is a forum where the problems of the faculty of Da’wah and communication can be solved jointly. A variety of good examples of faculty somewhere can be imitated by faculty elsewhere. This forum also serves as a disseminator of aspirations to influence government policy. To support the successful implementation of these programmes and activities, improve the efficiency and effectiveness as well as the continuity of the development of the Faculty of Religious Affairs and Communications, it is necessary for various input from all sides to assess the extent to which the objectives of the Programme and the Planned Activities are directed in the achievement of the targets. To this end, a periodic collection of data is carried out that is collected for access analysis of the performance of each university present through the integration of the data as a material and consideration to take policy action quickly and accurately. However, what is not less important is the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of some Islamic colleges, where this MOU is as an initial step to carry out the activities of the annual work programme as a follow-up step. With the existence of this MoU this is our best effort in responding from the standards of quality and criteria where in addition to the presence of MOU there must also be a follow up of the said MOU that is in the form of a plan of future activities.
