Townsend's Revenge

Greg Townsend has a vision, to build a space shuttle, an F-4 Phantom airframe launched from a 707 ailriner. Roger Jackson, a high-tech financier bent on becoming a space tycoon funds the program. The ship is built and ready for its maiden orbital flight when Jackson receives a mysterious call, a wisp of the deep-cover plot to sabotage Townsend’s ship. During the flight Townsend and Mitch Silvera, his back-seater from his Navy F-14 days suffer a catastrophic cabin pressure failure. They successfully maneuver the stricken ship back to Earth. Townsend discovers they’ve been sabotaged. Mitch and Roger Jackson are the culprits. Overwhelmed with grief Townsend pushes forward on preparations for another flight, always aware that a powerful secret organization is bent on their destruction. Searching for a replacement for Mitch, his old friend from his airline days, Kate Flanders arrives on the scene. Townsend’s old feelings for Kate begin to simmer as the day for the next space flight draws near. But then things unravel, a sudden death, then a betrayal that Townsend could never believe would happen. Events play out in a pattern that even Townsend can’t believe as he and Kate are caught up in a power struggle that tests their friendship and their individual courage
