READING PASSAGES Topics for these 16 short reading passages were carefully chosen to capture the interest of a wide variety of students. The progression allows students to begin at a lower reading level (Card 1a) and move on to higher levels (Card 8b) as their skills improve. Reading levels begin at 3.0 and progress to 4.5 according the Flesch-Kincaid Reading Scale. QUESTIONS Eight questions per story, in a multiple-choice format, give three answer options for the students to chose from. Students may go back into the text to find the answers.
