Wensky's study examines secondary stress in English words with an aim of discovering the principles regulating secondary stress placement. She examines previous stress theories and analyzes a corpus of some 1000 words and all their variants along the lines of Burzio (1994), whose stress theory she modifies as a result of her analysis.
