Colleges of Education in Gujarat have been in existence since 1948, the oldest one being A.G. Teachers Training College Ahmedabad. They were established with a view to building future generation of teachers. The College library contributes crucially towards achieving this goal. There is a widespread feeling that the resources and services of the libraries of these colleges of education have not been put to the optimum use. There may be many reasons to explain this lacuna. In order to get the feedback information of the stakeholder, user surveys were used. The feedback helps in presenting the state-of-the affairs as well as in chalking out the future planning."Resources and Services of College of Education Libraries of Gujarat: A Study" has been undertaken for the pursuit of doctoral research. Though conducting user survey is quite a daunting task, it provides the overall picture of the use of the resources and services of the libraries of the colleges of education under study.

The world has recognized the importance of engineering in every field of life. The quest of human being paved way to make new inventions to meet the demands existed. In fact of new inventions and industrialization after Second World War, the information was explored abundantly. To organize and manage the information, skills are needed to make them use in proper way. The libraries attached to Engineering Colleges are playing key role in acquiring and disseminating information to right user in right time. The libraries are changing in collection, management and dissemination of information due to technology application. The libraries are responding to the changing user’s behavior in the context of information seeking in this digital environment. The information product includes print and non-print consisting of digital resources is taking a different approach to information aspect. Therefore, the librarians need to organize and manage the resources in relation to the information use, behavior and requirements of the users in this context. The users of engineering college libraries in North Karnataka on review of literature, it was found that no such study at the doctoral level has been done in engineering college libraries of North Karnataka.2 Therefore, to bridge the gap, it is proposed to survey the engineering college libraries in North Karnataka with reference to use and management of E-resources and services by the users of the engineering college libraries of North Karnataka. Hence the present Study. The importance of a user is recognized as a key person in any information center of a library system in the environment. The user needs are different to procure suitable information to the library in accordance with the needs of information seekers is the primary duty of the librarians. The success of any information system or library services offer solely depends on how best the libraries understand the needs of the users and maintenance of holdings and the services concerned.
