The Competency Framework of PMO Managers Based on the Evolving Role of PMOs
According to PMI's Pulse of Profession ® (2013), training and development in project management have declined since 2010, while the percentage of project management offices (PMOs) with enterprise wide responsibilities has increased. Based on these findings, this paper develops a framework that covers four competency areas and four progression levels that can be used to advance the role of project managers working in enterprise level PMOs.
