Not Dead Yet
Not Dead Yet This isn’t some carefully crafted life story with neat chapters and dramatic turning points. It’s just a collection of real things that happened — the strange, ridiculous, and occasionally touching moments that stuck with me. Some of these stories are about family, some about friends, exes, weddings, travel, and the general chaos of existing. I didn’t write everything (some chapters had to go!), but I wrote the ones I could still laugh about. These are the bits people always told me to write down. So I did. Not in any particular order, and definitely not with any life-changing moral at the end — but hopefully with a few laughs and the occasional “Wait, what?!” It’s not a memoir. It’s not fiction. It’s just Not Dead Yet.

What was it like to participate in the Women's Liberation Movement? What made millions of women step forward from the 1960s onwards and join it in different ways? Many of the fifty women in this book were there. They describe how they have contributed in multitudinous ways across politics, the arts, health, education, environmentalism, economics and science and created wonderfully subversive activism. And how they continue this activism today with determined grittiness. Here are women – all over 70 years of age – still railing against the patriarchal systemic oppression of women, still fighting back. "Don't Call Me Sweetie", "Never Waste a Good Crisis" and "Still Here, Still Clear and Still Lesbian" are what they want us to know. The contributors to Not Dead Yet have created new analyses with new language and new kinds of organisations always aware of the ways in which the system is stacked against them, particularly against radical lesbian feminists. But they persist. They share the revolutionary zest they have carried with them over many decades. There is history, there is subversion and there are many extraordinary acts of courage. The language is full of irony and wit – as well as deadly serious. The Women's Liberation Movement had a profound effect on the lives of millions of women and in turn those women have changed the world. Young women in particular might enjoy reading the inspirational tales by their foremothers in Not Dead Yet and let their wisdom guide their own paths.
Not Dead Yet: The Autobiography
In his own words is the candid, witty, and unvarnished story of the songs and shows, the hits and pans, the marriages and divorces, the ascents to the top of the charts and into the tabloid headlines. As one of only three musicians to sell over 100 million records both in a group and as a solo artist, Collins breathes rare air, but he has never lost his talent for crafting songs that touch listeners around the globe. This is the story of his epic career, from child actor to one of the most successful songwriters of the pop music era. A drummer since almost before he could walk, Collins received on-the-job training in the seedy, thrilling bars and clubs of 1960s swinging London before finally landing the drum seat in Genesis. Later he would step into the spotlight on vocals after the departure of Peter Gabriel, and compose the songs that would rocket him to international solo fame with the release of Face Value and 'In the Air Tonight'. Whether he's recalling jamming with Eric Clapton and Robert Plant, pulling together a big band fronted by Tony Bennett, playing twice at Live Aid, or writing the Oscar-winning music for Disney's smash-hit animated film Tarzan, Collins keeps it intimate and his storytelling gift never wavers.
