New Syllabus Additional Mathematics (NSAM) is an MOE-approved textbook specially designed to provide valuable learning experiences to engage the hearts and minds of students sitting for the GCE O-level examination in Additional Mathematics. Included in the textbook are Investigation, Class Discussion, Thinking Time and Alternative Assessment such as Journal Writing to support the teaching and learning of Mathematics. Every chapter begins with a chapter opener which motivates students in learning the topic. Interesting stories about mathematicians, real-life examples and applications are used to arouse students’ interest and curiosity so that they can appreciate the beauty of Mathematics in their surroundings and in the sciences. The use of ICT helps students to visualise and manipulate mathematical objects more easily, thus making the learning of Mathematics more interactive. New Syllabus Additional Mathematics (NSAM) is a series of textbooks and workbooks designed to prepare students for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-level examination in Additional Mathematics. Together with the textbook, the workbook will provide students with ample practice to apply the various skills and concepts learnt to solving problems in both examination and real-life situations. The workbook contains the following features: REVISION NOTES Revision Notes are found at the start of each chapter. They emphasise the important concepts and formulae in the chapter. PRACTICE QUESTIONS Practice Questions provide students with a wide range of questions for further practice. The questions are classified into three levels of difficulty. � questions require students to use specific skills and concepts in the chapter directly to solve problems. � questions require students to apply their skills and concepts to solve problems. � questions require students to apply various skills and concepts, including the use of problem-solving skills, to solve problems. Revision Exercise The Revision Exercise is found after every few chapters to help students to recall and consolidate all the concepts learnt in these chapters. Mid-Year Specimen Papers and End-of-Year Specimen Papers The Mid-Year Specimen Papers and End-of-Year Specimen Papers have been written to follow closely to the format of school�s Mid-Year and End-of-Year examinations.
