In this book, the second of two, author George Manus has compromised with his basic philosophy about experience, which briefly states that: You must be master of your own experiences, as that is the only way you can progress. Think about the experiences you have benefited from in life, especially where you believe they have been important for your own development whatever your age. Should it be possible to be master of ones own experiences, one must as a starting point acquire a solid platform to stand on, understood as having a clear perception of lifes most important values and a balanced basis for meeting lifess challenges. For this, it goes without saying that one should listen to the experience of others. The author sees himself as an autodidact but believes that he has acquired a reasonably solid platform to stand on. "Honest self-awareness gives you a solid platform to stand on in life, and is a gift not given to all; many must work towards that goal themselves, like I have done, and this is where these books, as an example, shows you how I have exposed my honest self-awareness, and thereby got a more solid platform from where to stand up to lifes challenges". Inspiration to gather the content and publish this book; he says; comes from readers of his previous books, and two of them in particular: "217 Reflections" and "Food for Thought - 1001 Short reflections". In this book he has chosen 21 Reflections about Life Values from the first mentioned book, and 94 Food for Thought from the second. A book for all ages about My Life Values and Attitudes without reference to religion and politics.

Self-Action Leadership (Volumes 1 and 2) provides the first, and only, books of their kind in the academic world today. This two volume set single-handedly carves out a new and unique scholarly niche by providing the first comprehensive and secular manual to holistically address society’s universal need for personal leadership and character education. Its single-minded aim is the global promotion and proliferation of leadership, character, and life skills education in nations, communities, organizations, schools, homes, and individual lives everywhere. The concept of Self-Action Leadership (SAL) is rooted in 30 years of extensive research spanning the fields of self-leadership, leadership, action research, character education, and autoethnography. In addition to drawing on the scholarship of these extant fields, SAL simultaneously builds upon them by introducing an original theory and model that executives, administrators, scholars, teachers, and practitioners alike can universally utilize to their own advantages and to the benefit of their colleagues, subordinates, and students. Volume II—The Self-Action Leadership Model—contains the last four book sections and the appendices for the combined volumes, including the Freedom Focused Corporate Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

The Values, World Society and Modelling Yearbook 2014 analyses contemporary world events, drawing on foundational ideas in various academic disciplines. The year 2014 was the centenary of the start of the First World War and the seventieth anniversary of the Normandy landings in the Second World War. The year saw violent conflict in Ukraine and the rise of the Islamic State in parts of Syria and Iraq. A referendum was held in Scotland to decide whether to stay in the UK. Centrist parties lost ground in the European Parliament elections and a general election was held in India, the biggest ever election in the world. Thomas Piketty sparked debate with his analysis of growing inequality in capitalist economies. Politicians in the UK talked about ‘British values’ and debated ‘is Britain Christian?’ The British Museum lent one of the Elgin Marbles to the Hermitage in St. Petersburg and Putin made overtures to China. In California, Elliot Rodger went on the rampage, killing six people. Malala Yousafzay won the Nobel Peace Prize, Maryam Mirzakhani won the Fields Medal and Judit Polgar retired from international chess. Germany won the World Cup in Brazil. Echoes of the Big Bang confirmed the theory of how the universe began. The 2014 Yearbook discusses these events alongside a variety of other specific events and general issues. In addition, this book includes the speech given by Kevin Avruch when he was joint recipient of the Conflict Research Society Book of the Year Prize 2014 for his book Context and Pretext in Conflict Resolution.
