Graduate students depend on this series and ask for it by name. Why? For over 30 years, it's been the only one-stop source that supplies all of their information needs. The new editions of this six-volume set contain the most comprehensive information available on more than 1,500 colleges offering over 31,000 master's, doctoral, and professional-degree programs in more than 350 disciplines.New for 1997 -- Non-degree-granting research centers, institutes, and training programs that are part of a graduate degree program.Five discipline-specific volumes detail entrance and program requirements, deadlines, costs, contacts, and special options, such as distance learning, for each program, if available. Each Guide features "The Graduate Adviser", which discusses entrance exams, financial aid, accreditation, and more.Interest in these fields has never been higher! And this is the source to the 3,400 programs currently available -- from bioengineering and computer science to construction management.
Multi-user Interaction Model for Inter-site Control (MIMIC)

Abstract: "With the wealth of bandwidth that is now available through fiber technologies and the increased processing speeds of computers, distributed, real-time, multi-user applications have gained much attention. Unfortunately, many people still do not have access to the necessary high bandwidth communication lines or the high processing capabilities needed for these applications. Traditionally, virtual reality (VR) has only been available to those people not hampered by these constraints. However, we believe that a person may use low bandwidth lines (such as analog, voice-grade lines), along with relatively low processing speeds (such as personal computers (PCs)), to participate in distributed, interactive, multi-user, real-time VR environments. To verify our belief, we have designed and implemented an interaction control model, which runs on a 486 PC over a 9600 baud link. This model reduces bandwidth consumption by using a modular design for the interaction domain. It uses a remote procedure call platform to enchance distributed actions and addresses the conflicting goals of real-time interaction with low bandwidth and low processing capabilities. The implementation runs as a library to extend the functionality of the WorldToolKit package, a VR software package for personal computers created by Sense8 Corporation."
Foundations of Augmented Cognition

Bringing together a comprehensive and diverse collection of research, theory, and thought, this volume builds a foundation for the new field of Augmented Cognition research and development. The first section introduces general Augmented Cognition methods and techniques, including physiological and neurophysiological measures such as EEG and fNIR; a
