Challenges in Parkinson's Disease
During the natural history of Parkinson's disease (PD), many patients require hospital admission for medical or surgical problems other than the motor features of PD. Therefore, they are often admitted to non-neurological wards where the staff is unfamiliar with PD management. Among the issues related to hospitalization in patients with PD, drug-related problems such as inappropriate levodopa timing of administration, the use of contraindicated, centrally acting antidopaminergic drugs and anticholinergic burden remain among the most troublesome.

Aging of the population has rendered neurocognitive disorders a major health issue. Since no cure is yet available for such disorders, research is mainly focused on possible modifiable factors that may reverse or delay cognitive decline in older people. Cognitive decline in aging is influenced by various factors across mental, sensory, physical, and lifestyle parameters. The research topic focuses on an in-depth understanding of factors influencing cognitive function and decline in aging. Our scope is to shed light on the complex interplay between mental, sensory, physical, and lifestyle parameters and their impact on cognitive health in aging populations. In recent years, the exploration of various facets contributing to cognitive decline has become pivotal. We are seeking research articles that investigate crucial elements and their roles in influencing cognitive health among the elderly.
