Durante el franquismo, la radio se convirtió en una compañera del hogar para las mujeres españolas. Las locutoras y los locutores de las denominadas “emisiones femeninas” constituyeron una voz amiga que les acompañó en aquellas largas y elásticas jornadas domésticas. No obstante, esta función de mitigar la carga onerosa del cuidado de a casa, la infancia y el marido, entre otras tantas cuestiones, no fue el único interés que albergó la radiodifusión franquista. En otro eje de coordenadas bien distinto, el régimen supo aprovechar su capacidad comunicativa para desplegar a través de las ondas, las prerrogativas ideológicas del nacionalcatolicismo. Los programas de radio, es una muestra de violencia institucional y sistémica, reeducaron a las radioyentes en el marco del nuevo modelo de feminidad de la España de los vendedores: “La perfecta casada”. En este sentido, los discursos radiofónicos insistían, con una añadida función represiva, en cómo debía ser la actitud, el comportamiento y el pensamiento de una mujer, al mismo tiempo que atenazaba su cuerpo con un rígido control moral. Por otra parte, negando la presunción de observar a las radioyentes como una audiencia pasiva, en las cartas que enviaron a los diferentes programas radiofónicos, se atisban una estratigrafía de resistencias. En ella, se muestra con lucidez la capacidad de agencia ejercida por las mujeres españolas que, no emulando una postura sumisa, más bien ambigua, disentían en ocasiones de los mensajes transmitidos en sus emisiones favoritas. La presente obra trata de esclarecer, no solo el proceso de construcción de los modelos de genero franquistas, sino que centra su atención en las conductas resistentes de aquellas “mujeres grises” que oían la radio, y pretende discernir, con el análisis de sus misivas, las posturas desafectas” con las que revelaron su inconformidad con el proyecto de genero franquista."
