In life, we are shaped by our temperaments, our environments, and the people we encounter outcomes that are often unpredictable and unfair. Success is not always earned, and loss is not always deserved. But the one resource granted equally to all is time. My late father, whose words have guided me since childhood, always said that the most precious thing in the world is time. As I approach the age at which he passed, I now understand and relive the weight of those words more deeply. This book is my effort to make meaningful use of the time I’ve been given. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be a practicing dentist, but I hope to be someone who values the time I have, and someone who looks back on life without regret. Part II: The Time for Implants Focuses on the timing of implant placement—immediate, early, and delayed. Clinical case studies illustrate how to make optimal timing decisions. It also includes an in-depth discussion of alveolar preservation using various graft materials and membranes, helping clinicians make informed choices rather than defaulting to trends. Part III: The Space for Implants Shifts the focus to the tissue environment—both bone and soft tissue. It revisits the fundamentals of bone physiology and regeneration, emphasizing biological principles that may be overlooked in modern implant practice.
