If I Go Missing

Author: Brianna Jonnie
language: en
Publisher: Lorimer Children & Teens
Release Date: 2019-12-03
If I Go Missing is derived from excerpts of a letter that went viral and was also the basis of a documentary film. In her letter, Jonnie calls out the authorities for neglecting to immediately investigate missing Indigenous people and urges them to "not treat me as the Indigenous person I am proud to be" if she were to be reported missing. Indigenous artist Neal Shannacappo provides the artwork. Through his illustrations, he imagines a situation in which a young Indigenous woman does disappear, portraying the reaction of her community, her friends, the police, and media.
Jack Griffin Retold

Jack Paul Griffin Time: Nearing midnight. No one has found me yet I've been sitting up here for about four hours, I lit a lamp that someone left up here. The sky is full of clouds. Who knows maybe the moon won't show if not, then I'm hiding for no reason. I miss my family, yes, even Ginger. I've been away from home for so long. It all started on that darned camping trip. Now on my birthday, I can't even talk with my parents. I wonder if anyone is still looking for me, earlier I heard Kray calling me it's funny that a wizard can't even find me. I wonder if Ramie is in bed yet, or is he still playing guitar? It's now 12 am. My watch is a little fast, wait I hear someone, it's Jem he found me. I'll tell him to go, oh no! I can see the moon now!
When I Come Up Missing

The idea for this booklet was founded in my love for family members who have not yet believed in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and the gift of eternal life in heaven. I felt lead by the Lord to prepare those who will face the feelings of loss and despair if left behind after the Rapture. Although there are those who believe that the Rapture will happen in my lifetime, as God's Word says, no one but the Father knows the day or the hour. No matter what generation experiences the Lord's return for His family, the results will be the same. I pray that this booklet touches the lives of those whom you love and that many come to the Lord before His return. May God bless you and carry you through. Cecelia Mallory, born in 1966, is the last of six children. Although her parents were loving and hard-working, a life of limited funds and challenged relationships shaped her youth. She married at the age of twenty, to a nice and hard-working man. It wasn't until she reached her late thirties and faced a troubled marriage that she gave her life to the Lord. God has been very faithful to restore her marriage and grow her faith. It is with this joy that she shares God's love with those who are still lost. Her newfound purpose is to pass on the wisdom that the Lord has graciously given her. She and her husband, Kevin, live in beautiful North Idaho and enjoy all that God chooses to give them, including forgiveness, love, and mercy and the boldness to share Him with others.
