Identity in Dialogue
Situated in increasingly pluralizing cultural contexts, Catholic schools face the challenge of recontextualizing their identity in a culturally plausible and theologically legitimate way. To this end, across Victoria, Australia, the Enhancing Catholic School Identity Project (ECSIP) has developed a suite of empirical instruments that provide an in-depth analysis of a school's current - as well as desired - identity in a statistically reliable way. The results are discussed in this book. After describing and interpreting the results, the empirical insights lead to well-informed recommendations aimed at the identity development of Catholic schools, with a normative preference for the Recontextualizing Dialogue School model as the way to enhance Catholic identity in a context of diversity. In this manner, ECSIP supports on-going processes of (self-) assessment that form the basis for continuing dynamics of (self-) improvement of the identity of Catholic educational institutions. Identity
IDENTITYA Dialogue Between Man and His Illusion In a world drowning in information, where silence feels impossible and the mind never stops running - one man begins an unexpected conversation. Not with a teacher. Not with a god. But with his own Identity. Atharv, a modern seeker overwhelmed by confusion, desire, and exhaustion, discovers that every struggle in life - from ambition to anxiety - is born from the same source: the image of who he thinks he is. Through intimate and thought-provoking dialogues, Identity unfolds as a journey between the restless human and the calm, ancient voice within. The "Identity" speaks with quiet authority, revealing how it creates desires, fears, roles, and emotions - and how awareness can dissolve them all. Drawing on the timeless wisdom of the Vedas, Upanishads, and Bhagavad Gita, this book bridges ancient consciousness and modern chaos, guiding the reader through: The noise of ambition, success, and comparison. The trap of endless choices and digital distraction. The illusion of self-image and emotional attachment. The awakening into awareness, peace, and pure being. By the end, the seeker realizes that the goal was never to destroy identity, but to see through it - to live, love, and act freely without becoming bound by who we think we are. "When identity bows, silence blooms."A book for anyone who feels lost in thought, tired of becoming, and ready to return home - to being.
A Dialogue on Personal Identity and Immortality
"Perry's excellent dialogue makes a complicated topic stimulating and accessible without any sacrifice of scholarly accuracy or thoroughness. Professionals will appreciate the work's command of the issues and depth of argument, while students will find that it excites interest and imagination." -- David M. Rosenthal, CUNY, Lehman College
