Holger Holunder and the Mph (Reading age eight to ten) Life isn’t always easy for Holger Holunder, as he is a bit of a dreamer. He likes to contemplate things leisurely and he hates to be rushed. He prefers his own company to bad company, and he prefers moving sedately to hectic activity. But then one day he comes upon something very odd out in the wasteland, and this discovery changes everything. Suddenly Holger is forced to take action, and worse still: the action has to be swift. Stubbornly he keeps at it although he meets failure after failure. But he also makes a good friend, and he builds up a lot of confidence and courage on the way. Will he succeed in his challenging endeavour? A story about friendship and loyalty, about inventiveness and constancy.

Holger Holunder und das Mph (Lesealter acht bis zehn)) Holger hat es nicht immer leicht, denn er ist ein Träumer. Er betrachtet die Dinge gern in aller Ruhe und hasst es gehetzt zu werden. Seine eigene Gesellschaft zieht er schlechter Gesellschaft vor, und gemächliche Fortbewegung zieht er hektischer Aktivität vor. Aber dann stößt er eines Tages im Ödland auf etwas höchst Merkwürdiges, und dieser Fund ändert sein ganzes Leben. Plötzlich muss Holger aktiv werden – schlimmer noch: er muss schnell werden. Hartnäckig verfolgt er sein Ziel, auch wenn er unzählige Misserfolge einstecken muss. Andererseits gewinnt er aber auch eine gute Freundin, und sein Selbstvertrauen und sein Mut wachsen beträchtlich mit der schwierigen Aufgabe. Wird ihm gelingen, was er sich vorgenommen hat?
