Historical Summary of Aids to Navigation Analyses. Volume II: Annotated Bibliography

Volume II (this volume) contains an annotated bibliography of 137 studies, analyses, and papers that were identified as part of the historical summary of aids to navigation analyses. A detailed categorization of each of the 137 reviewed studies is also included. In addition, a total of 59 studies conducted by the Coast Guard Research and Development Center that focus on aid technology, buoy moorings, and hardware are summarized and categorized. Another 31 relevant studies have been identified that are part of the analysis in Volume I. The detailed descriptions of the studies in this annotated bibliography provided the basis for the integrated description of the studies in Volume I. In most cases, the annotated bibliography contains a more detailed description of the various studies than is contained in the main report. The annotated bibliography also offers an opportunity for incorporating these summaries in an accessible electronic database.
