Heterocosmica II (Fikční světy postmoderní české prózy) je samostatná kniha, ale je vnitřně spjatá s publikací Heterocosmica (Fikce a možné světy), jejíž český překlad vydalo Nakladatelství Karolinum v roce 2003. Znamená završení mého úsilí, jemuž jsem se věnoval od svého návratu z kanadské emigrace – včlenit do kontextu soudobé české literatury a české literární vědy teorii fikčních světů. Postupuji zde především analyticky a soustřeďuji se na rozbor reprezentativních děl postmoderní české prózy. Pro teoretický a pojmoslovný výklad odkazuji čtenáře na knihu Heterocosmica, ale zároveň poskytuji dosti informací, aby se čtenář „druhého“ dílu i bez znalosti „prvního“ v teoretické problematice fikčních světů bezpečně zorientoval. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsem ve své práci vždy pěstoval vzájemnou podmíněnost literární teorie a analýzy (resp. interpretace), vyúsťují rozbory této knihy v jisté nové vhledy teoretické. Ty se týkají především složité a obtížné problematiky postmoderní prózy a vrcholí v pokusu o typologickou charakteristiku postmoderního narativního textu. Teorie fikčních světů souzní se základním rysem postmoderny, kterým je tvorba inovátorských, překvapivých světů. Proto je tato teorie podle mého názoru nejužitečnější nástroj, jaký máme, pro dešifrování a pochopení postmoderní literatury, která čtenářům téměř bezohledně předkládá díla obtížná, ba hádankovitá. Mé analýzy snad pomohou začlenit postmoderní narativní experimenty pevně a trvale do dějin české krásné prózy.
Transmedial Narratology and Contemporary Media Culture
Narratives are everywhere--and since a significant part of contemporary media culture is defined by narrative forms, media studies need a genuinely transmedial narratology. Against this background, Transmedial Narratology and Contemporary Media Culture focuses on the intersubjective construction of storyworlds as well as on prototypical forms of narratorial and subjective representation. This book provides not only a method for the analysis of salient transmedial strategies of narrative representation in contemporary films, comics, and video games but also a theoretical frame within which medium-specific approaches from literary and film narratology, from comics studies and game studies, and from various other strands of media and cultural studies may be applied to further our understanding of narratives across media.
