EXPLORING WORSHIP is a 240-page textbook that gives worshipers a balanced theology of worship, and trains your worship team in the art of leading worship. This book covers all the bases, both devotional and practical. Equip them with one of the most comprehensive tools available today for worship leaders, musicians, songwriters, and singers. First written in 1986, Bob completely rewrote the book in 2018, producing this THIRD EDITION. This new edition is stronger than ever and relevant for today’s changing worship landscape. Used as a text internationally, Exploring Worship is a “must read” for worshipers. It lays a scriptural foundation for understanding what praise and worship really is, and then provides a practical framework for implementing praise and worship in the local church. This is one of the foremost worship texts used today by Bible Schools, Universities, and local church worship ministries.

Have you ever noticed how often we use the word "time" in our everyday conversations? Not only are we acutely aware of the passage of time, but our speech is also littered with references to it: We kill and waste time. Time flies, or sometimes it crawls. We refer to time in countless expressions and figures of speech. Chuck Pierce tackles the subject of time specifically as it relates to God and our relationship with Him, addressing some transcendental questions such as, how can we tell when we get "out-of-step" with God's timing? Pierce moves readers from viewing time as a philosophy or a curse to seeing it as a real gift from God, presenting a new reality of space, time, spirit and truth as they advance through the pages. This book is for everyone who wants to take back their life, take their place above the linear timeline, and learn to live on earth influenced and empowered by an eternal God.

This book analyses the most sung contemporary congregational songs (CCS) as a global music genre. Utilising a three-part music semiology, this research engages with producers, musical texts, and audiences/congregations to better understand contemporary worship for the modern church and individual Christians. Christian Copyright Licensing International data plays a key role in identifying the most sung CCS, while YouTube mediations of these songs and their associated data provide the primary texts for analysis. Producers and the production milieu are explored through interviews with some of the highest profile worship leaders/songwriters including Ben Fielding, Darlene Zschech, Matt Redman, and Tim Hughes, as well as other music industry veterans. Finally, National Church Life Survey data and a specialized survey provide insight into individual Christians’ engagement with CCS. Daniel Thornton shows how these perspectives taken together provide unique insight into the current global CCS genre, and into its possible futures.
