The method is constructive, the pupils drawing their own figures. It begins with simple exercises, which increase in difficulty by almost imperceptible steps. The treatment of the subject will, I think, be found thoroughly educative and practical, and an excellent introduction to demonstrative geometry. The introduction of this kind of geometry into the country schools, where geometry has heretofore not been taught, and into the lower grades of village and city schools, will furnish a sort of knowledge to the pupils of those schools that will prove valuable to them in the various callings of life; a knowledge, too, of which they are now left in total ignorance.
