SHORT PHOTOGRAPHIC GUIDE - VOL.1 The Greek historian Nikolas Doumanis, regarding the lack of attention paid by Italian historiography to the Dodecanese, wrote: "First used as a pledge by the diplomacy of the great powers, it represented one of the most precious jewels in the crown of the Italian empire (...)" Occupied in turn by the Turks, Italians, and, for a short time, by the Germans and the English and, finally, annexed to Greece, the Dodecanese represents one of the chapters of Italian history that has been little treated by scholars. It is even worse in Italian schools: the brief epic of the Dodecanese is almost ignored in contemporary history texts. Very few people know that the jewel that Doumanis speaks of was mostly made up not of naturalistic heritage, although important, but of incredible architectural and urbanistic achievements built there, in a very short time, in the golden years of Mario Lago's Governorship and that go from 1923 to 1936. The author's intent is to ensure that Italian and non-Italian tourists and scholars visiting the islands can rediscover those assets that are now forgotten, due to the culpable carelessness of the Italian governments. We also want to bear witness to the valuable and silent work of restoration and enhancement, despite everything, carried out by the Hellenic administrations. Without any pretensions of academic rank, we have therefore intended to draw up two short photographic guides suitable for an informed tourist use. We have therefore prepared historical-descriptive cards, with period and current photos, indicating, for each building, the map indication and the streets. Finally, the two texts attempt to provide an answer to the problem of the total absence of information in the available literature.
IL PANTHEON DEL CIELO: CULTURE E RITI PER L'ASCESA STELLARE NEL PANTHEON “PLATONICO” DI ROMA
Entrando nella cultura e nella spiritualità greco-romana, l’autore spiega come il Pantheon sia stato concepito quale macchina rituale per l’ascesa agli Astri dell’anima dell’imperatore e come riproduca il passaggio più memorabile del Mito di Er del X Libro della Repubblica di Platone. Al fine di comprendere la funzione del Pantheon analizza, dunque, teorie e pratiche dei riti di purificazione, a mezzo di lustrazioni circumambulatorie e vocalizzazioni delle sette note musicali corrispondenti ai sette Astri celesti. Obiettivo? La risalita "armonica" dell’anima tra i Cieli. Così facendo rivela il disegno unico della struttura, funzionalmente armonica con quelle note, e dell’area limitrofa destinata alla celebrazione simbolica della Religione platonica del Mondo. Svela poi l'enigma del labirinto quale specchio del moto retrogrado dei pianeti; offre un'inedita rappresentazione cosmologica del mito del Mondo quale Specchio di Dioniso; chiarisce un'oscura profezia di Properzio sull’ascensio ad astra di Ottaviano Augusto, etc… Un universo spirituale che, se interpretato con "occhiali" moderni, rischia di rimanere non compreso. Identico destino potrebbe toccare al tempio del Pantheon, eccezionale patrimonio ereditario di un mondo culturale scomparso.
ΚΌΣΜΟΣ, IL MONDO DEGLI ANTICHI
Prima esisteva un’idea precisa del cielo. Si conoscevano regioni celesti e movimenti temporali di ogni astro, nella loro determinata ed unica funzione rispetto all'anima, in descensum come in ascensum, nella nascita e nel post-mortem. Prima, quando si “considerava” o si “desiderava” (da sidus, sideris, plurale sidera), si chiamavano le stelle a testimoni. Oggi, non si ci rivolge più alle stelle, ma agli schermi degli smartphone. Dopo avere romanticamente fantasticato per decenni del “sole dell'avvenire” e di miti del “progresso”, ci troviamo succubi di fronte ad un “utensile tecnologico” il quale determina e risolve le nostre relazioni ed, infine, fatalmente le nostre emozioni. La scienza ci dice che esiste solo uno spaventoso abisso di nulla intorno alla Terra. Essa non è più il centro del Mondo. Il cielo stellato non ruota più attorno ad essa. La Terra-Mondo di oggi non è altro che un piccolissimo oggetto astrale che ruota velocissimo in un’enorme sistema solare, a sua volta sperduto pulviscolo, vagante a impensabili velocità tra vuoti infiniti e miliardi di remotissime galassie. Insignificante polvere cosmica che reca le altrettanto insignificanti vite dell'uomo, in un universo incomprensibile e privo di speranza. Il sistema pre-copernicano metteva, invece, l'uomo al centro dell'Universo. Per il tre volte grande Ermete l'uomo, ipostasi di Dio, era il vero centro del Mondo.
