Das Schaf ist eines der ältesten Haustiere des Menschen. Es wurde bereits vor circa 10000 Jahren als Fleisch-, Milch- und Wolllieferant gehalten. Die folgenden Seiten sollen einen historischen Einblick gewähren in die Anfänge der Schafhaltung und der Verwendung von Wolle als textiler Rohstoff und der Entwicklung der Wollverarbeitung in Europa.
