Cyber-Physical Systems Security Engineering Plan (CPSSEP)

Author: G-32 Cyber Physical Systems Security Committee
language: en
Publisher:
Release Date: 2022
This SAE Standard establishes practices to: aManage risk and ensure security of a cyber-physical system (CPS) throughout its life cycle by utilizing systems engineering principles; bAssess the impact of cyber-physical systems security (CPSS) objectives and requirements; cAssess the security risks to CPS technical effectiveness and functions, and address weaknesses and vulnerabilities; dAddress various domains of consideration (see 3.1) that take into account operating conditions of the system, command and control, configuration management (refer to SAE EIA649), etc., that could negatively impact CPSS or CPS-designed purpose; ePerform design validation and verification to assess security and risk of the CPS. The cyber-physical systems security engineering plan (CPSSEP) is a framework standard that integrates cybersecurity into a cyber-physical system (CPS) throughout the entire system's engineering life cycle. The CPSSEP assists with preserving and protecting cyber-physical systems against exploits of weaknesses and vulnerabilities that, if compromised, jeopardize the business or mission objectives of the CPS. This standard leverages and builds upon applicable existing standards, accepted practices, and bodies of knowledge across industry and government sectors.
Systems Engineering Using the DEJI Systems Model®

While we need to work more with a systems approach, there are few books that provide systems engineering theory and applications. This book presents a comprehensive collection of systems engineering models. Each of the models is fully covered with guidelines of how and why to use them, along with case studies. Systems Engineering Using the DEJI Systems Model®: Evaluation, Justification, and Integration with Case Studies and Applications provides systems integration as a unifying platform for systems of systems and presents a structured model for systems applications and explicit treatment of human-in-the-loop systems. It discusses systems design in detail and covers the justification methodologies along with examples. Systems evaluation tools and techniques are also included with a discussion on how engineering education is playing a major role for systems advancement. Practicing professionals, as well as educational institutions, governments, businesses, and industries, will find this book of interest.
Nonlinear Dynamical Systems in Engineering

Author: Vasile Marinca
language: en
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
Release Date: 2012-01-05
This book presents and extend different known methods to solve different types of strong nonlinearities encountered by engineering systems. A better knowledge of the classical methods presented in the first part lead to a better choice of the so-called “base functions”. These are absolutely necessary to obtain the auxiliary functions involved in the optimal approaches which are presented in the second part. Every chapter introduces a distinct approximate method applicable to nonlinear dynamical systems. Each approximate analytical approach is accompanied by representative examples related to nonlinear dynamical systems from to various fields of engineering.
