"Angelo State University recognizes that each student's education needs and experiences are unique and that certain individuals are skilled in many areas of equivalent university work that are not usually formally documented in transcripts. It is the policy of ASU to recognize nontraditional learning experiences, such as military training and experience, and to award college credit in all cases where such credit is appropriate. In keeping with this policy ASU has established this document. All students, including military and former military personnel, are eligible to receive credit based on documentation of their previous learning experiences. The nontraditional methods usually considered applicable include: military service schools, Military Occupational Specialties (MOS), ratings, and other military job training and experiences as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE), college level examination program (CLEP), DOD's Defensive Activity for Non-traditional Education support (DANTE's) Subject Standardize Tests (DSST), Advanced placement (AP), American College Testing Program (ACT), Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), and correspondence courses and other forms of distance education offered by regionally and nationally accredited institutions.
