Axisymmetric Stress-wave Propagation Across the Plane Interface Between Two Cylindrically-bounded Media

Presented are the analytical derivations, the development of approximations for obtaining results, and some of the computer results in a steady-state axisymmetric stress wave propagation study focusing on the plane interface between two cylindrically bounded, coaxial, ideal media, one solid and one liquid. For stress waves in a 1-1/2 inch diameter nylon rod propagating into an equal diameter water column, acoustic fields on both sides of the interface are calculated. From these fields, intensity, power and transmission loss as a function of frequency are also calculated. (Author).
