बर्मा में गणेश जी को महापिएन के रूप में पूजा जाता है। स्याम देश, जहाँ के निवासी मंगोल हैं, गणेश जी को अयूधियन कहा जाता है। कम्बोडिया में ये केनेस कहलाते हैं, यूनान में गणेश जी को ओरेनस के के रूप में पूजा गया, है। ईरानी-पारसी इनकी उपासना अहुरमदा के रूप में करते हैं। हैं एवं इनके ऊपर पंचास आयतें लिखी गई हैं जो किड जेन्दवस्ता कहलाती हैं। अहुरमज्दा का तात्पर्य है असुरों का मद हरने वाला देव। चीन में गणश जी को क़ांगितेन कहते हैं एवं उनकी मूर्ति नृत्य गणपति के रूप में स्थापित है, चीन में शिङ्गवैन नाम का एक सम्प्रदाय है जो कि केवल गणपति की ही पूजा करता है। ये लोग यहाँ पर इन्हें कुआन-शी-तिएन कहते हैं। मिश्र में इन्हें एकेटोन के नाम से पूजा जाता है। एकटोन का तात्पर्य है एक दन्त। जापानी लोग इन्हें फो के नाम से बुद्धि के देवता के रूप में पूजते हैं। मंगोलिया में इन्हें बातरला रुमखागान् के नाम से जाना जाता है। अमेरिकी एवं यूरोपीय महाद्वीप में भी गणपति की अनेकों प्राचीन मूर्तियाँ मिली हैं। ब्राजील में तो पूरे के पूरे गणपति मंदिर मिलें हैं। सम्पूर्ण नेपाल में गणपति उपासना प्रचलित है। यह तो हुई गणपति उपासना की कुछ वैश्विक झलकियाँ परन्तु इसके साथ-साथ भारत वर्ष में तो गणयति अनंत रूपों में पूजे जाते हैं। तानसेन ने ब्रह्म ताल, रुद्र ताल, विष्णु ताल, विन्ध्य ताल, गंधर्व ताल, सिंह ताल, जनक ताल और यहाँ तक कि तालाध्याय भी बना डाला परन्तु बात नहीं बन रही थी जो तानसेन चाह रहे थे वह उच्चता उनके गायन में नहीं आ पा रही थी आखिरकार वे रोते-धोते अपने गुरु की शरण में गये। गुरु ने कहा मूर्ख गणेश ताल बना और फिर बात कर। तानसेन ने तुरंत ध्रुपद के रूप में गणेश ताल बनाकर गणपति का आह्वान किया बस फिर क्या था सारे विघ्न समाप्त हो गये और तानसेन के गायन में वह शक्ति आ गई कि जब वे मेघ मल्हार गाते तो बरसात निश्चित ही होती। गणपति तंत्र का यही महत्व है।
