In 2016, the Peace Accords between the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia–People's Army (FARC–EP) and the Colombian government promised to bring an end to over fifty years of armed conflict. Yet, despite widespread international acclaim and heavy investments in the peace process, war continued. In this book, Anthony Dest provides a rigorous reassessment of the terms of peacebuilding through an ethnography of ongoing struggles for autonomy, based on over fifteen years of research and activism in Colombia. By questioning the potential for peace under the aegis of the state, Dissident Peace opens up critical space from which to imagine more radical forms of peace. From the coca fields of southwestern Colombia to the negotiating table in Cuba, Dissident Peace brings the contradictions of peacebuilding and organizing to life. Throughout the book, Dest locates contemporary violence within longer histories of colonial capitalism and centers the lives and insights of Black and Indigenous communities in Colombia. Este libro desarrolla un modelo de universidad a partir de la investigación formativa (IF), tradicionalmente limitado a las prácticas docentes. La IF sirve como objeto de estudio para abordar las funciones básicas de la universidad: organización, docencia, investigación, extensión y proyección social, y las gestiones administrativa y financiera. Se presenta como un estudio de caso extremo y longitudinal, en el cual las producciones académicas de las dos últimas décadas funcionan como rastros puntuales de cómo intervenir la institución, con el propósito de transformarla en una organización que desarrolla conocimiento complejo sobre el contexto regional. En esta tarea, el autor de este libro participó —desde abajo— como profesor y contribuye, en diferentes épocas y con papeles diversos, a lograr este cometido: construir un modelo de universidad que orienta en la práctica la construcción de dicho conocimiento. Luego, con los procesos de reajuste de la institución a nivel nacional, esta función del modelo se va desplazando y queda reducido a su mínima expresión. En este marco, donde varios enfoques operan en el mundo objetivo institucional, por ser una experiencia social singular, aquí se busca identificar los aprendizajes y, en particular, desarrollar un modelo que ofrezca respuestas satisfactorias a los retos que viene enfrentando la universidad, en especial los relacionados con procesos de deslocalización del conocimiento en el contexto del capitalismo cognitivo. Así, el presente libro se divide en cuatro partes: la primera documenta la ontogénesis de estas ideas; la segunda expone las etapas de construcción del modelo; la tercera evalúa el papel del modelo como orientador de los procesos de intervención social, y la cuarta delinea conceptos nuevos como abdicción y universidad como organización retroactiva, que pretenden aportar al enriquecimiento de una IAP organizacional construida desde la universidad, glocal, colectiva y humana.
