This book addresses the true innovation in engineering design that may be promoted by blending together models and methodologies from different disciplines, and, in this book, the target was exactly to follow this approach to deliver a new disruptive architecture to deliver these next-generation mobile small cell technologies. According to this design philosophy, the work within this book resides in the intersection of engineering paradigms that includes “cooperation”, “network coding”, and “smart energy-aware frontends”. Applied intelligence, integrated with software, is an essential enabler for science and the new economy, creating new markets and new directions for a more reliable, flexible and robust society and empowering the exploration of our world in ever more depth. The available software, however, often falls short of expectations, with current methodologies, tools, and techniques still neither robust enough nor sufficiently reliable to adequately serve a constantly changing and evolving market. This proceedings presents 40 papers delivered at SoMeT 24, the 23rd edition of the International Conference on New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodology Tools, and Techniques, held on 24 and 25 September 2024 in Cancun, Mexico. The conference explored new trends and theories, illuminating the direction of developments by discussing issues ranging from research practices to techniques and methodologies and proposing and reporting on the solutions needed for global world business, and this book aims to capture the essence of a new state-of-the-art in software science and its supporting technologies, and to identify the challenges that such technologies will have to master. The 40 papers included here were carefully selected following a thorough review process on the basis of technical soundness, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity, whereby each paper was reviewed by three or four reviewers. The book brings together the work of scholars from the international research community, and will be of interest to all those working in the field of intelligent software methodology, tools, and techniques.

The integration of applied intelligence with software has been an essential enabler for science and the new economy, creating new possibilities for a more reliable, flexible and robust society. But current software methodologies, tools, and techniques often fall short of expectations, and are not yet sufficiently robust or reliable for a constantly changing and evolving market. This book presents the proceedings of SoMeT_22, the 21st International Conference on New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodology Tools, and Techniques, held from 20 - 22 September 2022 in Kitakyushu, Japan. The SoMeT conference provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience in the field of software technology, with the emphasis on human-centric software methodologies, end-user development techniques, and emotional reasoning for optimal performance. The 58 papers presented here were each carefully reviewed by 3 or 4 referees for technical soundness, relevance, originality, significance and clarity, they were then revised before being selected by the international reviewing committee. The papers are arranged in 9 chapters: software systems with intelligent design; software systems security and techniques; formal techniques for system software and quality assessment; applied intelligence in software; intelligent decision support systems; cyber-physical systems; knowledge science and intelligent computing; ontology in data and software; and machine learning in systems software. The book assembles the work of scholars from the international research community to capture the essence of the new state-of-the-art in software science and its supporting technology, and will be of interest to all those working in the field.
