The memory of Kgosi Mogale wa Mogale led to the renaming of Krugersdorp to Mogale City. Amid a resounding echo of bonafide testimonies of outstanding leadership in the tragedy of time, this historical book narrates the life and times of the heir to the throne of Bapo Bamogale, Kgosi Mogale wa Mogale. The wisdom of a popular Igbo proverb affirms that, "Until the lion have their own historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter," and this aptly accentuates the need to regenerate the glory and historical achievements of the previously disadvantaged South African heroes and heroines. The book is a critique of the making and development of the allochtons history in South Africa, and offers an African liberating perspective of history focusing on African Kingship, matriarchy, bravery, history of Bapo Bamogale and their movement from the north of Kwa-Zulu through Limpopo into North West, Gauteng and then back to the North West. It focuses on the wars fought for the ownership of land and for survival and the meritorious leadership that Kgosi Mogale wa Mogale provided his people during his lifetime. Finally, the book proffers a critical interpretive perspective through which a holistic model is developed to assist others in doing and developing local township histories. The book seeks to achieve understanding the regeneration of the memory of our forgotten heroes and heroines.
