Availability and Access to Ground-Water-Related Information and Data

For many years it has been apparent that the ever-increasing volume of information and data accumulated in all fields of human experience is far outpacing the individual's capacity to absorb even a small part of it. It is, in fact, impossible to keep current in one's own field of expertise without a systematic approach to screening, cataloging, and retrieving pertinent information. In recent years, the use of computer technology to create automated systems has provided a means to at least partially mitigate the problem.
