On 23 January, 1968, the American naval vessel U.S.S. Pueblo was boarded and captured off the coast of North Korea. The crew offered no resistance. Rear Admiral Gallery, a World War II naval hero who captured the German submarine U-505 among other exploits, and who is no stranger to harshly criticizing superiors in the chain of command, writes extremely critically of Pentagon policies which he believes led to this fiasco.
