Francis and Woodcock, who previously co-authored a similar volume on management skills assessment, have assembled materials to assess organizational efficacy in areas often difficult to define. Eight tests, or "audits", are included. They are: agility, or an organization's ability to react to new opportunities; communication within the organization; working across and among the different parts of the organization, for example, between customers and suppliers; innovation capability, especially among managers; knowledge management; shared values within an organization; team effectiveness; and methods to increase involvement among various groups within the organization. Each of the eight sections includes facilitator's notes, a questionnaire, a theory handout, exercises, and a summary of the chapter on flashcards. Distributed in the US by Ashgate.
