Breakers Ahead

"Breakers Ahead" is the story of the life of young Englishman Thomas Macavoy Denning who, having been expelled from school, leaves home to come to America where he resolves to make for himself a name that equals the name his father made for himself in the Old World. He succeeds in gaining wealth and a position by will, force, and self-confidence. And he succeeds financially; but on the eve of his political triumph, the election to governor of a Western state, a lax past rises up to defeat him.
