Don made his beloved wife Angharad a promise before she died: He would scatter her ashes off the rugged North Wales coast. But Don lives in Leeds and the country is in lockdown as a pandemic rages, and nobody is allowed to go anywhere. Don is resourceful, though, and in his younger days used to run with a mob of feared Manchester gangsters. So he persuades the unwilling Joe, a timorous young student who lives on his street, to drive him in the dead of night.
What should be a simple round trip of a few hours becomes an adventurous caper as Don and Joe have to travel by car, barge, microlight and on foot to complete their journey... and become embroiled in an armed robbery on the way that has the police on their trail.
As the media follows their progress and Don and Joe become latter day folk heroes, they have to reconcile their differences and confront their own fears and failings if they are going to succeed.
NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH is an uplifting story of love, loss, second chances and keeping promises... both to your loved ones and yourself. And it has just a little bit of magic in it, too.
