Rotterdam Bas Princen

Rising out of a commission from the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art to develop a photographic concept for the Center's invitations and brochures, Princen has slowly developed a collection of images that aim to redefine the notion of 'non-place'. The 44 pictures presented in this elegant volume present the culmination of the project and document the peripheral and border zones of the city of Rotterdam. Accompanying the images is a narrative text, written by Christophe Van Gerrewey, which advances the emotions, experiences and situations associated within the urban space.
