With Anwen handled, and Eayla safely hidden inside the Narrows, Gunnar Kyle returns to her job as a Hunter commissioned by the VAC. The spike in Risers in London hasn't lessened, if anything, it's getting worse with each day that passes. The VAC has their suspicions about who is behind it, as does Gunnar, but she has to keep what she believes is happening quiet because who she suspects is someone that is near royalty in the VAC circles.
As Gunnar and Tamsin are drawn deeper into the mystery of the missing Risers, Eayla begins the fight of her life inside the Narrows to assume her title as Queen according to an ancient and cryptic prophecy where her worthiness will be tested. It becomes clearer and clearer with each day that passes that what the VAC wants Londoners to believe is happening, and what is actually being orchestrated, are not the same at all when an emissary from the VAC shows up in the Narrows requesting a meeting with the newly crowned Fae Queen - forcing Eayla to remain collected and keep her true lineage hidden from those who would destroy her if the truth becomes known.
