Faith is a curious thing. A seed is planted by someone at some point in your life, and it either thrives or it withers and dies. Poverty, injustice, brokenness, trauma—life’s challenges will impact you in one way or another, but if you allow that simple seed of faith to take root in your heart, you will begin to experience these things very differently.

The story we tell on these pages is of our struggle with faith through some bad of the worst things life could throw at us: a bleeding issue, medical injustice, a miscarriage, hepatitis and a liver transplant.

So how does the story end? Well, spoiler alert: I die. Eventually. That is a different story that will have to be written by another author, but this story is of perseverance and faith, told with humor, emotion and more detail than you may be comfortable with. So, prepare yourself for some honesty about living a life of faith. It is messy, painful and at times incredibly confusing. However, we hope that by telling the story of our faith journey with raw honesty, you will witness our faith being transplanted from shallow misconception to a permanent, long-lasting trust in God.
