Reversality articulates some of the contemporary critical theories regarding the disintegrated relations between cultural representation and self-identity caused by globalisation, through the concept of self-determination. It proposes a sequential outline in three phases to put participating individuals through the process of self-identification.
Reversality was rendered possible by the participants, artists or not, from all over the world. It was published in collaboration with the USA for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). It was part of the Photobook archive in Tehran, at the Sazmanab - Center for Contemporary Art and New York at the ICP - International Center of Photography. The project was supported by the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) award 2014 granted by the Tokyo Foundation.
