Paul’s first letter to a congregation he helped bring into existence and that nearly broke his heart. Here was a church very much out of sync with the fundamentals of the gospel, one with the same basic problems we face in congregations today – divisions, immorality, doctrinal error, and unloving attitudes and actions.
