The Keswick School of Industrial Arts occupies an important place in the Arts and Crafts Movement. Inspired by John Ruskin and founded by Canon and Edith Rawnsley, it revivified old craft traditions in the Lake District. Craftsmen such as Harold Stabler, Isobel McBean and Herbert Maryon became leading figures in English Arts and Crafts. This is the first detailed study of the School.
