During the Great Depression era, times are hard, especially for the rural blackfolk. When their only source of employment collapses, fast talking Zebediah comes up with a plan. He drags his friend Ebenezer along, who reluctantly agrees in spite of the risks. If score is successful, each of the men can then seek out a better life.
When the plan backfires , Zebediah’s imprisoned, allowing Ebenezer to get away free.
Years later, when he’s finally released, Zebediah has dreams of starting anew. A prosperous Ebenezer goes back on his word, refusing to give him what’s rightfully his.
