A novel based on a true story of my first relationship where I was abused. Before my abuser came along I was a strong and independent girl who only relied on herself. I fell in love with what I thought was a sweet caring person who accepted me for all that I was. That wasn't the case. Slowly, but surely the man I thought I knew was becoming a monster. That prince charming facade was fading and so were the walls I had built. I believed it was my duty to be the heroine in this story and save him. It was my decision to stay and fight or save myself and let go. Not every girl is a heroine and not every heroine walks away with a happily ever after.
