Petal crossed over to another realm at the end of book one, upon her return she comes face to face with the person who had been abusing her, her uncle. Having summoned up powers unknown to her, she marks him for death without her knowledge.
There are others with gifts and powers similar to hers that have been watching her. Petal has to face the consequences of using her powers unnecessarily and without permission. Although her ability to read the thoughts of others through their eyes was not taken from her, she has to wait four years to be able to use her powers once again.
Petal will have to make a choice, will she break the law to use her powers to save a loved one or will she obey and mark him for death?
