The reason of writing this book about sending blessings on Prophet (SAW) is that the author who was a great scholar of his time, was once travelling through a desert and felt the need of performing ablations as the prayer time was nearing. He found a well with water at its bed, but without any arrangement to draw the water. While he was circling around the well, a young girl witnessed the scene from the window of a house nearby.She inquired from the Shaikh about his restlessness, on which he showed his helplessness for drawing water from the well. The girl came out and recited some thing and blew her breath into the well, whereupon water rose up and the Shaikh performed ablutions but in a state of wonder. On completing his prayer, he knocked the door of the girl and requested her, about the secret of her feat, whereupon, she saif that this made possible by just one darood (blessing) sent on Prophet (SAW), On returning home the Shaikh compiled the book on daroods (blessings) on the Prophet (SAW) and inscribed this miraculous darood also in it. The book is named "Dalail-ul-Khairat"
