Fairies and Pixiedust

Teenagers have often been viewed (and sometimes enjoyed being viewed) as an angst-ridden group, as evidenced by the book of poetry entitled "Teen Angst, " whose sales immediately skyrocketed after its release. "Fairies and Pixiedust" is the complete opposite, a voice for those teenagers and young adults who are committed to turning their angst into a gale of positive energy. While tough issues are encountered in the illustrated anthology and prominently include the loss of the author's two best friends, such matters are written as a montage of thoughtful memories and sincere appreciation--not only for the friendships but also for the gift of life itself. For when such sorrows are too great to handle alone, the author has included the poem "Grandma's Love"; as most teenagers know, grandmothers are the antidote to everything. The author is committed to taking life at its simplest, most enjoyable form and conveying this ethic in an inspiring manner to her readers.
