Vestiges is a collection of narrative, biographical and observational poems.

In one of the fine poems in this collection, Francis DiClemente says, "I believe there are other forms of bravery besides firefighters scaling burning buildings and plucking toddlers from the top floor."

He’s right. DiClemente displays bravery in his poetry. He looks with an unblinking eye at loneliness—his own and that of others. He has tapped into the deep well of elemental aloneness that is part of every human being. His language is at once tender and brutal, his images fresh, yet familiar, for they are the images we see every day—on the street, in a movie theatre, in the mirror.

—Kathleen Kramer, poet and playwright; author of the poetry collections Boiled Potato Blues and Planting Wild Grapes
