Basically, of course, Adam was wrong about her feelings for Jonas, Lisa thought resentfully. Quite wrong! Though she couldn't deny that she responded to Adam, she did not love him.
She still loved Jonas--though much good it did her. What a mess she had made of everything! Her temper had lost her the man she loved.
And instead of giving herself time to think, she had rushed into marriage with a man who had loved her--and now hated her. If only Adam would let her go!
