Originating in the Funnel Beaker culture, better known for its early farming, dolmens and passage-graves, the practice of burying complete pots in wetland areas is one of the enigmas of Neolithic Denmark. Bog pots are particularly common in Zealand, and this study concentrates on finds from Zealand, Mon, Lolland and Falster. 253 finds are listed, described and illustrated, with chapters on vessel types, technology and their possible interpretation as ritual offerings. From the beginning of the fourth millennium BC, the practice continued up to the advent of Christianity. This book thus forms an important document for the study of this important artefact-type.
